From September 22–24, 2025, the research groups AG ASP and AG Magnetismus gathered in Münchweiler an der Alsenz for this year’s joint Group Retreat and Workshop “Perspectives of Magnon Spintronics 2025.” The retreat offered a perfect mix of scientific exchange, collaboration, and community building. It began with a Student Day, featuring team activities and science storytelling sessions, followed by two days of scientific presentations on current research topics such as spin-wave dynamics, magnetoelastic coupling, nonlinear and hybrid magnonics. Highlights included: A broad range of scientific talks from members of both groups, each followed by lively discussions. An inspiring evening lecture by Prof. Dr. Henry Keazor (Universität Heidelberg) on “Kunstfälschung.” A forward-looking SWOT analysis session to discuss the future perspectives of magnon spintronics research. Beyond the technical sessions, social activities and shared meals created an open atmosphere for informal discussions and strengthened collaboration between the two groups.
